2024 D3football.com All-America Teams
Jan. 2, 2025 - As it prepares to compete in its fifth consecutive national championship game, the North Central College football team has been recognized with six selections to the 2024 D3football.com All-America Teams.
Presenting All-America Teams for the 26th time in 2024, D3football.com recognizes 11 offensive and defensive players and four special-teams positiions on each of its four All-America Teams. The 100 student-athletes are among 1,210 who were nominated for All-Region honors by athletics communications professionals at the 239 football-playing NCAA Division III institutions following the regular season in November.
North Central has three First Team representatives in quarterback
Luke Lehnen, tackle
Jeske Maples and guard
Sam Pryor, while defensive tackle
John Sullivan and linebacker
BJ Adamchik make the Second Team and linebacker
Zack Orr represents the Cardinals on the Fourth Team. Maples is a D3football.com All-American for the third straight season, while Lehnen, Pryor and Adamchik are second-time honorees.
Lehnen, who was named the inaugural Associated Press Offensive Player of the Year in December, was D3football.com's National Offensive Player of the Year in 2023. Lehnen enters the NCAA Division III national championship game, the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl, on Sunday as the NCAA's career all-divisions leader in touchdowns responsible for (208) and consecutive games with a touchdown pass (58). In position to establish a new collegiate career record for passing efficiency (211.8), Lehnen is Division III's career leader in total offensive yards (15,632) and has tied the Division III record for career touchdown passes (158). The only player in collegiate history with at least 50 rushing touchdowns (50) and 100 passing touchdowns, Lehnen is a finalist for the 2024 Gagliardi Trophy after winning the award in 2023.
Maples is a three-time D3football.com First Team selection and an eight-time All-American. The Cardinals' starting left tackle is a First Team All-CCIW selection for the fourth time in 2024, becoming the third Cardinal to be so recognized. Pryor, the 2024 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Line Student-Athlete of the Year, was a Second Team pick a season ago and adds this most recent award to First Team All-America selections by the Associated Press and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).
Sullivan also earned Second Team All-America recognition from the Associated Press this season, in addition to CCIW Co-Defensive Student-Athlete of the Year and D3football.com Region 5 Player of the Year selections. Sullivan leads the Cardinals, who have gone two playoff games without allowing a touchdown in the postseason for the first time, with 15.5 tackles for loss and six quarterback sacks. Adamchik, a Third Team All-American in 2023, leads the Cardinals in tackles (69) and has moved into fourth place in the program's history with 265 career stops. Orr ranks fourth on the team in tackles (51) and second in tackles for loss (9).
A total of 130 All-America awards have been presented to 50 North Central football student-athletes. The Cardinals (14-0) take on the University of Mount Union (14-0) in Stagg Bowl LI Sunday at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Central time with live broadcasts on ESPN and 89.1-FM WONC.
