CCIW Release 

Jan. 20, 2025 - The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) named North Central College men's volleyball setter Carson Steinbach this week's CCIW Setter of the Week.
 
Steinbach excelled in his first two matches with the Cardinals, leading them to a win against Concordia University (Wis.) Saturday and driving them into a fifth set against No. 2 New York University yesterday. Unfortunately, the Cardinals fell to the Violets 3-2 in the five-set thriller.
 
The junior transfer from Lewis University made great plays on the offensive side of the ball this weekend, recording 83 assists, 14 kills, and four service aces. On the defensive side, Steinbach tallied 19 digs and four blocks in two matches.
 
North Central has won 34 CCIW Player of the Week honors since the league began the awards in 2020. Steinbach joins Tyler Donovan, Austin Scott, Danny Smithers, and BK Bartlett as current Cardinals to win a CCIW Player of the Week award.
 
The No. 18 Cardinals return to Gregory Arena on Thursday, Jan. 23, to host the Illinois Institute of Technology. The first serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
