NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Oct. 21, 2025) – For the second time this season, junior BJ Sorg of the North Central College men's cross country team has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athlete of the Week for his top-10 performance at the Augustana Interregional Invitational last Saturday, Oct. 18. The conference office announced its selection on Tuesday.
 
In a loaded field that featured 14 nationally ranked teams, Sorg paced the sixth-ranked Cardinals to a fifth-place team finish while turning in a sixth-place finish individually. The junior was the highest CCIW finisher in the field and posted a time of 24:23.4. It was Sorg's highest finish at the Interregional in his career.
 
The weekly award is Sorg's second of the season and the fourth of his career. The Cardinals have won four of the six CCIW weekly honors this season with Nolan Crooks and Ari Elmayan also getting nods.
 
North Central will be back at Saukie Golf Course on Saturday, Nov. 1 as Augustana College hosts the CCIW Championships.
