SPARTANBURG, S.C. — A beautiful 72 degree day set the scene for the North Central College Men's Cross Country team's final race of the 2025 season, as BJ Sorg and Oscar Frontjes earned All-American honors with top-40 place finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Spartanburg, South Carolina. As a team, the Cardinals finished in 10th-place at the Milliken Research Park Cross Country Course.

From the get-go, North Central moved three into the top-50. Sorg found his niche in the top-20 by the 2k mark with Jacob Kluckhohn and Oscar Frontjes in 43rd and 48th, respectively. By the 3k, Ari Elmayan had established himself in the top-100 with Jack Galminas and Aidan Armstrong connecting not far behind.

By the halfway mark, Sorg maintained his spot in the top-15 with Frontjes and Kluckhohn climbing side-by-side.

The race grew tighter through the second 4k, with the Cardinals starting to spread out. The final 1k featured a steep uphill and curves to the finish line as Sorg crossed the line in 30th place in 24:33.7 for his first cross country All-America honor. Frontjes had eyes on Sorg, with just one runner between them, as the sophomore finished 32nd in 24:34.9 to earn his first All-American nod of his career.

Kluckhohn finished just outside the top-40 in 45th place with a time of 24:47.6, just three seconds off from his career-best. Armstrong moved up seven spots in the last 1,000m to finish as the Cardinals' No. 4 runner in 132nd at 25:33.9. Elmayan was fifth for North Central and 179th overall (25:50.9). Galminas, in his nationals debut as a freshman, finished 204th (26:03.5) with Nolan Crooks rounding out the squad in 246th (26:27.0).

The Cardinals were seeded 11th heading into the national meet and bettered their mark, finishing 10th as a program with 315 points. Defending national champions, University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, won the meet with 82 points, followed by fourth-ranked SUNY Geneseo in second with 132 points. Second-ranked Wartburg finished in a close third with 133 points.

North Central closes out the 2025 season with its 51st consecutive CCIW title and 58th straight nationals appearance to look back on.
