Feb. 13, 2025 - Taking on the Milwaukee School of Engineering in Gregory Arena, the North Central College men's volleyball team picked up their second consecutive sweep.
 
The first set saw 12 tied scores and five lead changes. Tied at 17-17, a kill by Chris Mactal and two Raiders errors gave the Cardinals momentum to edge away. North Central ultimately took the set off an error by MSOE (25-22). The Cardinals held a .296 attacking percentage in the first set. 
 
A service ace by Jeffrey McEachern and a kill by Carson Steinbach opened up the second set, and the Cardinals never looked back. North Central capitalized on MSOE errors to take four consecutive points (11-6) and shortly after, at 12-9, earned another four points (16-9). Taking a 6-1 run, North Central saw the end of the set in sight (22-15). A kill by Cooper Lundal gave the Cardinals the second set (25-17).
 
Looking for the sweep, Lundal served up back-to-back service aces to give North Central a 6-2 lead. The Cardinals continued to roll, and at 17-13, Tyler Donovan delivered a serve that was too much for the Raiders to handle (18-13). MSOE fought back, but North Central continued to push. Two straight Raiders errors and one last kill from Scott sealed the deal (25-20).
 
The Cardinals offense was spread across the board, with McEachern (9), Austin Scott (8), and Steinbach (7) coming out in front. Donovan tallied 30 assists, and Lundal picked up two service aces. Donovan and Scott both recorded six digs. Additionally, Scott tallied a season-high four blocks.
 
North Central hosts Dominican University at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, in Gregory Arena.
