Cardinals Perch at No. 14 in AVCA Poll

Apr. 8, 2025 - After sweeping North Park University on a senior night, the North Central College men's volleyball team idles at No. 14 in the latest edition of the American Volleyball Coaches Association, the organization announced on Tuesday.
 
North Central enters the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament with a record of 15-6, including a conference record of 7-3. The CCIW announced three Cardinals had been named to their All-Conference Teams. Tyler Donovan was selected as a First Team nomination, while Cooper Lundal and Carson Steinbach were named to the Second Team. Additionally, Donovan was named as the CCIW Setter of the Week.
 
New York University continues to command the rankings since the third ranking release and holds a perfect record of 23-0. Southern Virginia University (29-1) and Springfield College (22-3) flip-flopped positions for Southern Virginia to take back the No. 2 position, followed by Springfield at No. 3.
 
The next five rankings remained stagnant, with Stevens Institute of Technology (23-4) at No. 4, Juniata College (28-3) at No. 5, Carthage College (20-2) at No. 6, the University of California Lutheran (20-6) at No. 7, and Messiah University (24-2) at No. 8. Vassar College (21-5) and Loras College each moved up one rank to No. 9 and No. 10, respectively.
 
The Cardinals will play the Loras College Duhawks at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Apr. 9, on Lillis Court in the CCIW Tournament Semifinals in Dubuque, Iowa.
