CCIW Press Release
Â
Apr. 8, 2025 - The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) has named
Tyler Donovan,
Cooper Lundal, and
Carson Steinbach of the North Central College men's volleyball team to All-CCIW teams for their hard work on the court this season.
Â
Donovan is only the third athlete in program history to have been named to an All-Conference Team three times. The graduate student took the reins as the Cardinal's main setter at the start of the 2023 season. Since then, he has posted his name across multiple program records. This season, Donovan leads the team with 527 assists and averages 9.94 assists per set, ranking second in the CCIW. He ranks second on the team in service aces (16) and averages 0.30 in service aces per set, ranking fourth in the CCIW.
Â
For the second consecutive season, Lundal was named a Second Team selection. Lundal, the senior middle blocker and opposite hitter, is a four-year member of the North Central program. Lundal leads the team with 55 blocks and an attacking percentage of .420. Lundal's attacking percentage ranks third in the CCIW. He has also recorded 151 kills, 31 digs, and eight service aces.
Â
Steinbach was named to the Second Team for the first time in his career. New to the Cardinal squad this season, Steinbach fit right into the North Central lineup. Steinbach began the season as the Cardinals setter before transitioning to opposite hitter when Donovan entered the lineup. Steinbach leads the team with 215 kills and 18 service aces this season. Additionally, Steinbach sits second on the team in assists (258), digs (159), and blocks (55).
The CCIW also announced the six winners of its RESPECT Award for the season. RESPECT Award recipients have distinguished themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution and community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourages inclusiveness and a positive culture. North Central's RESPECT Award honoree is senior outside hitter
Austin Scott.
