May 13, 2025 – Rafael Lessa of the North Central College men's tennis team has been named a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection for his performance in the classroom and on the tennis court.

Nominated by members of CSC, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. Athletically, nominees must be in the lineup for 70% or more of the total matches played that include team scores.

On the year, Lessa is 14-11 in singles play with a 5-1 mark in College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin action. In doubles, he is 12-12 overall and 4-1 against CCIW competition. Lessa is a finance and economics double major.

North Central won its fourth CCIW Championship this spring, advancing to the program's third NCAA Tournament. Overall, the Cardinals went 15-7 with a 6-1 mark in league play.
