2025 D3football.com Preseason All-American List

Aug. 18, 2025 — Four returning defensive standouts from reigning national champion North Central College have been named to the 2025 D3football.com Preseason All-America Team. Defensive lineman John Sullivan and defensive back Brayden Garrigan earned First Team honors, while defensive tackle Cortez Jones and star back Rahmareon Roby were selected to the Second Team.

Sullivan, a Second Team All-American last season, led the Cardinals with six sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss. He finished second on the team with 68 total tackles and added two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, and eight quarterback hits.

Garrigan anchored the Cardinal secondary with a team-high four interceptions, along with 61 tackles, seven tackles for loss, three sacks, three pass breakups, and a forced fumble. He recorded a career-high seven tackles twice in the postseason, including in the 2024 Stagg Bowl win over the University of Mount Union.

Jones started all 15 games at defensive tackle in 2024, tallying 29 tackles and one sack. He posted a season-best four solo tackles in North Central's 55-27 win over Wheaton College in the Battle for the Little Brass Bell.

Roby ranked fifth on the team with 49 total tackles, including four for negative yardage. He also recorded three interceptions, nine pass breakups, and one fumble recovery. His career-high seven tackles came in the Cardinals' 42-17 playoff victory over Whitworth University.

This marks the sixth consecutive season that North Central has had multiple players named to the D3football.com Preseason All-America Team. Last week, D3football.com ranked the Cardinals No. 1 in its preseason poll, awarding them 24 of 25 possible first-place votes.

North Central opens the 2025 season on Saturday, Sept. 13, hosting the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
