Sept. 19, 2025 - The North Central College women's volleyball team extended its winning streak to nine matches Friday night, cruising past Loras College in straight sets, 25-18, 25-20, 25-23, inside Gregory Arena. The victory also marked the Cardinals' 15th win in their last 16 home matches.

Abby Buban and Sarah Lezon each delivered early kills to tie the opening set at 5-5. A four-point swing gave North Central a 10-9 lead, and Abranet Layne's third kill of the frame, followed by another from Lezon, pushed the Cardinals ahead 15-12. Sarah Harvey connected with Lauren Benson to extend the lead to five, and Jordan Surber sealed the set with an ace.

North Central opened the second set on a 7-3 run, capped by a solo block from Benson. Ava Hoff's first kill of the night made it 13-9. After a brief rally from Loras, Buban responded with three consecutive points to give the Cardinals a 19-15 edge. A Duhawk error and another Buban kill closed out the set.

Seeking their seventh sweep of the season, North Central surged ahead in the third set with a 5-0 run, highlighted by two kills from Danni Moser and an ace from Demi Carpio. Loras responded to take a 17-15 lead, but Buban's 14th kill sparked a 6-1 rally. Layne's final kill ended the Duhawks' comeback attempt and secured the match.

Harvey dished out 47 assists, tying for sixth-most in program history for a three-set match. Buban led all players with 15 kills, followed by Layne with 13 and Moser with 10.
