Oct. 6, 2026 – North Central College men's cross country sophomore Daniel Kasperan was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Runner of the Week after a career-best performance at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic.
Facing competition from Division I, II and NAIA, Kasperan finished 15th overall in the Gold Division with a personal best time of 24:16.2. The sophomore improved his previous best time by nearly a full minute while helping the Cardinals to a third-place team finish, North Central's second best finish ever at the Louisville Classic.
Kasperan becomes the third Cardinal this year to earn the weekly award from the conference following BJ Sorg's selection on Sept. 8 and Ari Elmayan's nod on Sept. 22.
North Central is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Augustana Interregional Invitational. Race time is set for 11 a.m. at Saukie Golf and Cross Country Course in Rock Island, Ill.
