USA Wrestling Release

Feb. 6, 2026 - North Central College women's wrestler Bella Mir was named the USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week presented by Air Force Special Warfare earlier this week for her efforts in last Thursday's dual against Wartburg College.

On North Central's senior night, the NWCA National Duals All-Divisions and Division III Champions went head-to-head on Jan. 29 with Bella Mir claiming a statement win at 145 pounds. Mir, who ranks No. 2 in her weight class, utilized just 43 seconds of action to deliver a 10-0 technical fall against 10th-ranked Anuyah Kelly. The third-ranked Cardinals went on to defeat the eighth-ranked Knights 37-8. Mir is 7-1 on the season with five of her wins being by tech fall.

The match came just three weeks after North Central claimed the All-Divisions title at the NWCA National Duals for the first time in program history, despite the Cardinals being the only Division III team in the field. Wartburg won the Division III duals title.
