North Central Four-Peats with NWCA Scholar Team Title

MANHEIM, Pa. (March 20, 2026) – For the fourth consecutive season, the North Central College women's wrestling team has been named the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) NCAA Team Scholar All-America Champion, the organization announced Thursday.
 
North Central compiled an impressive 3.90025 team grade-point average to lead the nation's top 40 women's wrestling programs. The Cardinals placed 20 student-athletes on the individual Scholar All-America list, including two graduate students, two seniors, five juniors, four sophomores, and eight freshmen. North Central's 20 selections tied for the most honorees in the NCAA. Read more about the Scholar All-Americans HERE.
 
In the Scholar Team rankings, four of the top five programs represented Division III institutions. The University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point ranked second with a 3.890 GPA, followed by Wartburg College at 3.870. Colorado Mesa University (3.865) and Simpson College (3.852) rounded out the NCAA Women's Scholar Team top five.
 
Demonstrating excellence both in the classroom and on the mat, North Central also secured a third-place team finish at the inaugural NCAA Championships. The Cardinals produced seven All-Americans and one national champion, as senior Bella Mir claimed the individual title. The team also captured its first NWCA National Duals championship with victories over the University of Iowa and McKendree University, and claimed team titles at both the Region IV Championships and the CCIW Championships.
