ALBION, Mich. (March 25, 2026) – The North Central College men's lacrosse team (1-9) wrapped up its nonconference schedule Wednesday evening against a strong Albion College (6-3) squad, falling 13-6 in its second straight road game in Michigan. With the loss, the Cardinals now turn their focus to conference play in the coming weeks.

Albion controlled much of the statistical battle, outshooting the Cardinals 52-31, including a 27-19 edge in shots on goal. The Britons also led in ground balls (41-28), faceoffs (15-8), and caused turnovers (21-14). North Central held slight advantages in saves (14-13) and successful clears (22-16).

Wyatt Hunt paced the Cardinals offensively with two goals and an assist, while
Jack Blaylock added a goal and two assists.
Ty Nagy and
Seth Rosen each found the back of the net, and
Dylan Ferreiro recorded his first collegiate goal late in the contest.
Gavin Braley contributed an assist, six ground balls, and went 8-for-20 at the faceoff X.
Will Handberg and
Will Sanchez each caused three turnovers, marking a career high for Sanchez.
Matthew Cranston served the full time in goal, recording 14 saves and a .519 save percentage.

Albion opened the game with five unanswered goals before Blaylock got North Central on the board, finishing a deflected shot in front of the net. Hunt followed with a man-up goal from long range to cut the deficit to 5-2, but Albion added another late score to take a 6-2 lead into the second quarter.

The Britons extended their lead with five goals in the opening stretch of the second period. Hunt responded with an individual effort, working around the crease through traffic to score with just over two minutes remaining in the half. In the closing seconds, Rosen capitalized on a man-up opportunity off a pass from Hunt to make it 11-4 at halftime.

After a scoreless opening stretch of the third quarter, Albion struck again in transition. North Central answered immediately, as Braley won the faceoff and found Nagy on a fast break to keep pace. Both teams settled in defensively for the remainder of the period.

Albion added an extra-man goal midway through the fourth to extend its lead. In the final seconds, Blaylock connected with Ferreiro, who battled through contact to score his first collegiate goal and cap the scoring.

North Central closes the nonconference portion of its schedule and looks ahead to College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) action as they open the CCIW slate with a road game against Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois on Saturday, April 4.
