Four Cardinals Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

(April 10, 2026)- The North Central College men's and women's swimming and diving team has been honored with four College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District recipients. Griffin Laurin, Clark Wilson, Amelia Minarik and Ayla Pequette have been selected to the CSC Academic All-District team that was announced on Tuesday. 

The CSC Academic All-District teams are to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. 


Laurin, a psychology major from Geneva, Ill., competed at eight meets for North Central in the 2025-26 season. He competed in the 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle events for North Central. He posted season-best times of 59.94 in the 100-yard butterfly, 1:53.16 in the 200-yard freestyle and 5:04.53 in the 500-yard freestyle. 


Wilson, a political science major from Indianapolis, Ind., competed at eight meets for North Central in 2025-26. He competed in the 50-yard freestyle, 50-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke. He posted season-best times of 24.26 in the 50-yard freestyle, 29.93 in the 50-yard backstroke, 52.91 in the 100-yard freestyle and 1:08.18 in the 100-yard backstroke. 


Minarik, a double major in graphic design and secondary education from New Lennox, Ill., competed at nine meets for the Cardinals last season. She competed in the 100 and 200-yard butterfly, as well as the 500, 1000 and 1650-yard freestyles. She put up season-best times of 1:11.47 in the 100-yard butterfly, 2:40.89 in the 200-yard butterfly, 6:06.57 in the 500-yard freestyle, 12:57.85 in the 1000-yard freestyle and 21:38.62 in the 1650-yard freestyle. 


Pequette, a sports management major from Tinley Park, Ill., competed at eight meets for the Cardinals. She primarily competed in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle. She earned season best times of 27.44 in the 50-yard freestyle and 59.54 in the 100-yard freestyle. 


The four combined selections to the CSC Academic All-District team mark a program high for the Cardinals.
