WAUKESHA, Wis. (April 22, 2026) - The North Central College men's lacrosse team (2-12, 1-3 CCIW) earned its first College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) victory Wednesday night, defeating Carroll University (4-11, 1-3 CCIW), 16-3, on the road.

North Central led most statistical categories, including shots (43-30), ground balls (30-19), and successful clears (29-26). Carroll held advantages in saves (20-9) and faceoff wins (11-10).

Ty Nagy paced the Cardinals with a career-high six goals and one assist, while Chris Veal contributed four goals and two assists. Chase Odom added two goals, and Dylan Ferreiro, Wyatt Hunt, and Devon Manjarrez each scored once.

Defensively, Dominic Rohrer recorded a team-high two caused turnovers, and Alex Porter collected four ground balls. Matthew Cranston got the start and tallied three saves, with Beck Hagen and Colton Porter also recording minutes. Hagen notched four saves and C. Porter had two.

Carroll struck first within the opening two minutes, but North Central responded quickly. Odom tied it up just over a minute later to spark a decisive 15-goal run. Nagy scored his first goal four minutes in off the assist from Jake Scumaci. Will Sanchez came away with a ground ball and set up Veal for his first goal of the day, putting the Cardinals up 3-1 and forcing a Pioneers timeout.

Gavin Braley won the ensuing faceoff and passed it up to Veal, who, despite taking a big hit at the crease, managed to put away the goal. Efficient ball movement by the Cardinals found Nagy open on the opposite crease for a man-up goal. Nagy landed another goal shortly after the restart as Ben Kerkow scooped up the faceoff ground ball and dished to Nagy for a 6-1 advantage. Veal, continuing his strong start, battled through three defenders and the Pioneers' goalie to extend the advantage to 7-1 midway through the first quarter.

After a brief defensive stand by Carroll late in the first, Nagy opened the second quarter with a no-look, behind-the-back goal. Veal added a long-range score, and Manjarrez followed with another highlight finish as the Cardinals reached double digits at 10-1.

Odom scored unassisted later in the half, and Nagy added two more goals — the final coming in the closing seconds before halftime. Cranston initiated the play with a point-blank save and a long outlet pass downfield to Nagy, giving North Central a commanding 13-1 lead at the break.

An own goal by Carroll opened the second half. The Pioneers tightened defensively in the third quarter, limiting North Central to two goals. Carroll added two goals in the fourth, but remained well behind at 15-3. Ferreiro's late unassisted goal capped the 16-3 victory.

North Central heads to Rock Island, Ill. on Saturday, April 25 for its last regular season and CCIW contest against Augustana College. Game time is set for 4 p.m. at Thorson-Lucken Field.
