May 15, 2026 - The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin has released its list of recipients of the Dave Wrath Academic All-CCIW Award for the 2025-26 winter season. The Cardinals also recognize their two Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference honorees, women's wrestler
Sara Sterner and men's wrestler
Casey Aikman.
North Central earned 109 Academic All-CCIW selections across eight winter sports. The Dave Wrath Academic All-Conference list includes student-athletes who achieved an overall grade-point average of 3.30 or higher and completed at least one year in residency at their institution.
The CCIW also announced the recipients of the Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference Award. Each member institution selects one men's and one women's student-athlete from each of the three sports seasons to be honored. To qualify, an individual must hold a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher and complete at least one year in residency.
Sterner placed third at the inaugural NCAA Women's Wrestling Championships to earn her fourth straight All-America honor. Her 51 career pins lead the program record book, and her 28-2 record ranked ninth in program history for single-season winning percentage at .933. She is also a four-time National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American.
Aikman finished the 2025-26 season with a 27-12 record and 10 technical falls. He won the CCIW Tournament at 184 pounds, the second conference title of his career. Aikman qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships with a runner-up finish at regionals. He is a two-time NWCA Scholar All-American and was a College Sports Communicators Academic All-American last season.
