2021 - 197 Pounds
Cody Baldridge won North Central College's first individual national title in men's wrestling in more than 50 years on Mar. 13, 2021 at the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Championships in Coralville, Iowa.
Baldridge came into the tournament with over 75 career wins as a Cardinal and a three time national qualifier. He won his first two matchups by major decision and then would win in the quarterfinals by decision. After pinning top-seeded Jonathan Wagner of the United States Coast Guard Academy in the semifinals, Baldridge punched himself a ticket into the finals. In the finals, Baldridge dominated third-seeded Gabriel Zierden of Concordia University-Moorhead (Minnesota) by major decision, 10-2, to win his first ever National Championship trophy.
Baldridge finished the season with a record of 11-2 and became North Central College's first National Champion for men's wrestling since Athletic Hall of Famer Ed Jackson '69 won the NAIA 130-pound title in 1969.Â
