Hailey Poe won the individual title at her first USA Triathlon Collegiate Championship in 2021, also earning National Freshman of the Year honors after defeating a field of veteran athletes.

Poe stole the lead early in the race as she was the first to break from the water completing the 750-meter swim in 10 minutes and 51 seconds, nearly 10 seconds ahead of the next competitor. Poe extended her lead in the 20-kilometer bike leaving quite the gap between her and the remaining lead pack as she turned in a 39 minute and three-second leg. Poe broke into the five-kilometer run with ease, clocking a 20 minute and 37-second run to finish as the individual champion in a time of one hour twelve minutes, and one point five seconds. Poe was also named the 2021 Freshman of the Year.

Poe returned in 2022 to defend the title and lead the Cardinals to a team national championship.  After breaking from the 750-meter swim in 10 minutes and 49.1 seconds to start off the race with a 12-second lead heading into the first transition, Poe dominated on the 20-kilometer bike and continued to extend her lead margin with a 38-minute, 23.1-second leg, then clocked a 20-minute and 2.4-second run, finishing in one hour, 10 minutes, and 47.6 seconds to capture the individual national title.

Poe added a third title to her resume in 2023, once again leading North Central to a team championship. Poe started the competition with 11 minutes and 30 seconds for her swim for 750 meters, followed up by a 36 minute and 45 second bike ride that goes 20,000 meters, and to cap it all off she would finish with a blistering 20 minute and 17 second run for a total time of one hour nine minutes and 27 seconds for 5,000 meters for a total time of one hour and nine minutes and 27 seconds.
