Chris Pack joined the Cardinal coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2015.  His primary focus is developing the pitching staff alongside Coach Mathey.  

Prior to joining the Cardinal staff, Pack played collegiately at Villanova University and entered as the top freshman pitching prospect in 2006. During his four years at Villanova, he was a two-year member of the starting rotation. In March of 2009, he was named Big East Conference and Big Five Philadelphia Area pitcher of the week. Chris was a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee for all four years, attending leadership seminars twice a year designated at different institutions.
 
Upon graduation from Villanova, Chris maintained eligibility due to a medical redshirt he received in 2006. Chris entered the University of Illinois in 2011, leading the Illini to a Big Ten Championship and an NCAA Regional. He went 8-1 with 4 saves and a 4.70 earned run average while leading the team with 25 appearances. Pitching in the low-mid 90’s, he earned himself a free agent contract with the Florida Marlins upon season’s end.
 
While playing professional baseball in the Frontier League for the Joliet Slammers in 2011, he helped lead the Slammers to their first Divisional and Frontier League Championship in franchise history. Chris was rewarded for his hard work via a contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks the following spring.
 
For the third year in a row, Chris helped lead another team to yet another championship, earning himself three rings in just three years. He was assigned to the Missoula Osprey in Missoula, Montana where he led the team in wins with a combined record of 7-2, taking the Diamondbacks affiliate to the 2012 Pioneer League Championship.
 
He is currently the owner and operator of Baseball Institute in Romeoville, Ill. and Mokena, Ill.
