D.J. Jewett joined the Cardinal staff in the fall of 2016 as a graduate assistant coach.
Jewett has spent the last four years as a head coach in the high school ranks, most recently at Central Private School in Central, La., while previously serving as head coach at Redeptorist High School in Baton Rouge, La.
Jewett spent two years playing collegiately at Rend Lake College, before receiving a scholarship to NCAA Division I Northern Illinois University where he wrapped up his career in 2008 batting .326 in 46 games under then head coach Ed Mathey. While at Rend Lake, Jewett was voted a team captain, team Most Valuable Player and was selected by the coaching staff as an academic representative of the program.
He will be pursuing a masters of leadership studies degree from North Central, with an emphasis in professional leadership.
