Kalus Murphy

Kalus Murphy joined the North Central College coaching staff prior to the 2022 season as the safeties coach. Murphy assumed the position of recruitment coordinator for the Cardinals prior to the 2024 campaign.

Murphy played collegiately at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in New York where he spent three seasons as a quarterback. Murphy served as RPI's quarterback's coach in 2021 during his senior year. They achieved a Liberty League Conference Championship, advanced to the quarterfinals, and coached the conference passing TD leader (29). Murphy then coached safeties as an in-season assistant coach at the University of Albany in the spring of 2021 during their FCS season before returning to RPI as an assistant coach for the 2021 fall season. Prior to joining the Cardinals program, he was a National Football League Bill Walsh Fellowship Quarterback Intern with the Baltimore Ravens in the summer of 2022.

A native of Silver Spring, Maryland, Murphy earned his bachelors of science degree in psychological science from RPI.
