Mavolio Grier joined the North Central coaching staff in 2010. After several years assisting with the coaching of the Cardinals' defensive linemen, he transitioned to coaching North Central's running backs fom 2018 to 2022 and has coached linebackers since 2023.
A native of Bartow, Florida, Grier played two years at Illinois Valley Community College, where he was a First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-America selection at linebacker. He went on to play two more years at Morris Brown College (Georgia), graduating with a bachelor's degree in psychology.
Grier is currently employed as a mental health counselor and has been a volunteer coach at Downers Grove South and Naperville Central High Schools. He owns a master's degree in sports psychology from Capella University.
Grier lives in Naperville with his wife, Heather, and their children, Lauryn, Jaxon, Lawson, Hailyn, Maisyn and Kaenon.
