Diana Barcelata joined the North Central College men's and women's coaching staff's as a volunteer assistant coach prior to the 2020-2021 season.

Barcelata recently finished her career at North Central, posting a career record of 37-14 at the No. 1 singles position over her two years as a Cardinal after transferring from Canada College (California).  Barcelata was a two-time first team All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) selection as well as a two-time Academic All-CCIW recipient.

Barcelata was named CCIW Player of the Week three times during her career and was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma (National College Honor Society) in 2018.

Prior to her career at North Central, Barcelata posted a 36-3 overall record playing at both the No. 1 and 2 singles positions at Canada College, winning the Northern California Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regionals in 2016-17 and qualifying for the JUCO National Tournament in Surprise, Arizona.

During her time at Canada College, Barcelata served as a coach at RS Tennis Academy in San Mateo, Calif., giving private lessons.

A native of Veracruz, Mexico, Barcelata won two national tournaments in her home country during the summer of 2018, finishing the year as the fourth-ranked singles player in Mexico.

Barcelata graduated with a bachelors degree in broadcast communication from North Central in the spring of 2020.
