Lance Gorman joined the North Central College men's and women's tennis coaching staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2019-20 season.
Gorman has extensive coaching experience throughout the Chicagoland area, serving as head coach at Aurora University from 2017-19 before the University dropped the sport following the 2019 season. He currently works as a tennis pro at Eola Tennis Academy in Aurora, Illinois and White Eagle Homeowners Club in Naperville, and is the assistant tennis director at Norris Rec Center in St. Charles, Illinois. Additionally, Gorman is a certified competitive player development coach by the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA).
Playing collegiately at the highest level, Gorman was a four-year member of the tennis program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, graduating in 1996 with a bachelor's degree in psychology.
Gorman went on to play professionally following his collegiate career, competing on the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Pro Circuit from 1996-98. Gorman also played for TG Kitzingen in the German Bundesleague in 1996.
He currently resides in Darien, Illinois with his wife Stephanie and their two daughters, Mackenzie and Sophia.
