Chrissi Ekhomu joined the North Central College coaching staff prior to the 2021-2022 season as an assistant coach for the Cardinals' women's basketball program.
Ekhomu comes to North Central following her stint as the assistant coach for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's basketball program. While with the Blugolds, they were ranked No. 15 in the country and swept their conference during the 2020-2021 regular season. Ekhomu was in charge of player development at UW-Eau Claire. In addition, she coached three all-conference players in her time there. Prior to UW-Eau Claire, she was the graduate assistant at Northern Illinois University from July 2018-May 2020 for the women's basketball team.
During Ehkomu's college career, she was a three-year starter at the University of St. Francis before transferring to Lewis University for her senior season. In total, Ekhomu was named all-conference honorable mention twice and an academic all-conference honoree three times.
A native of Bolingbrook, Ekhomu earned her bachelor of arts in psychology, with a minor in social work, from Lewis before obtaining her master of science in kinesiology and physical education; area of emphasis; sports and exercise psychology for Northern Illinois.
