North Central College Cardinals

Rich Gucwa Jr. was hired as North Central College's inaugural women's bowling coach in the winter of 2016.

“We feel fortunate to hire a person with as much knowledge, coaching experience and passion for the sport of bowling as Rich Gucwa, Jr,” said athletic director Jim Miller '86.  “Rich has numerous contacts in the Chicago region where many successful bowling programs exist.  Our hope is to use these contacts to establish a recruiting base that will allow us to build a highly competitive women's bowling team.”
 
A former member of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA), Gucwa Jr. has over 20 years of competitive bowling experience as well as 15 years in coaching.

• Head boys' bowling coach, Immaculate Conception Catholic Prep, Elmhurst, Ill., 2007-2014
• Private coach to top youth and high school bowlers throughout the Chicagoland area
• Appeared in Bowlers Journal Top 100 Coaches list three straight years

• Silver Certified Coach, United States Bowling Congress (USBC)
• Certification, American Sports Education Program (ASEP)

• Graduated summa cum laude from DePaul University with bachelor's degree in business communication
• Resides in Homer Glen with his wife and their two children
