North Central College Cardinals

Heather Sandvik joined the North Central College coaching staff as a graduate assistant coach for the Cardinals' women's cross country program prior to the 2019-2020 season.

Sandvik was a four-year letter winner for the women's cross country and track and field teams at Otterbein University (Ohio), and was a seven time Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) champion in events ranging from the 1000m run, 3000m run, 3000m steeplechase, and distance medley relay (DMR). Sandvik was a three time All-American as a member of the school-record holding DMR, which placed fourth during the 2019 indoor NCAA championship meet. She also qualified for the 2019 outdoor NCAA championship meet in the 1500m as well as the NCAA cross country championships in 2017. In cross country, Sandvik competed on a team that won four straight conference championship titles from 2015 to 2018, becoming just the second team in OAC history to accomplish this.

A native of Westerville, Ohio, Sandvik graduated from Otterbein in May 2019 with a bachelor's degree in sustainability studies. She is enrolled in the Master of Sports Leadership program at North Central.
