Andrew Gamarra joined the North Central College staff in 2016 as the eighth head coach in the history of the Cardinal women's soccer program.
Gamarra has compiled a 103-59-13 record at the helm for the Cardinals, making him the winningest coach in program history. In 2023, North Central won its first-ever CCIW Regular Season Championship and CCIW Tournament titles, earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament. The Cardinals set a school record of 18 wins in a season, including a 15-match unbeaten streak while scoring 91 goals, the second most in Division III. North Central also broke a CCIW record by not allowing a goal throughout league play. In conjunction with this record-breaking and threshold-crossing 2023 season, Gamarra was named CCIW Coach of the Year, a first for a North Central women’s soccer head coach. Achieving new heights for the Cardinal soccer program, the first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin players of the year, All-Region, and All-American honorees were earned during Gamarra’s tenure by his recruits.
Gamarra has coached four CCIW Defensive Student-Athlete of the Year selections, three Offensive Student-Athlete of the Year honorees, a pair of First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year recipients, and a CCIW Goalkeeper of the Year. As of the 2025 season, Gamarra has coached six All-Americans and 21 All-Region selections.
Academically, North Central has earned seven United Soccer Coaches Association Team Academic Awards under Gamarra. Four Cardinals have been named USC Scholar All-Americans (five total selections), with seven USC Scholar All-Region nods. Three players were selected to the College Sports Communicator's (CSC) Academic All-America teams, including Elle Sutter, who was a two-time honoree and the CSC Women's Soccer Division III Academic All-American of the Year in 2024.
Prior to North Central, Gamarra served as the head coach at Russell Sage College (N.Y.) from 2014-2015. The Gators went 26-10-4 in two seasons with Gamarra. He was named the 2014 Skyline Conference Coach of the Year with a Skyline Conference Championship in 2015. Eight players were named to the All-Conference teams under Gamarra's leadership.
Gamarra played collegiately at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside (2006-07) and Carthage College (2008-09). He graduated from Carthage in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in business administration before earning a master's degree in education from Carthage. He served as the assistant coach at his alma mater from 2009-13.
