Alara Boyd joined the North Central College women's wrestling coaching staff in the summer of 2024 as a graduate assistant coach. Boyd will work primarily with the middle and upper weight classes for North Central.
Boyd wrestled her senior season with the Cardinals, earning All-American honors by taking third place at the NCWWC National Championships in the 143-pound division.
Boyd comes to North Central following a successful career at McKendree University. She was a member of three NCWWC National Championships teams at Mckendree in 2020, 2021 and 2022 while also being the 155-pound national champion in 2021. Boyd is a three-time All-American for the Bearcats. Outside of collegiate wrestling, she made four USA Wrestling World teams, winning two medals (a silver and a bronze at the World Championships). Boyd placed fourth at the 2020 US Olympic Team Trials. She was also a Fargo National Champion in high school. Boyd will work primarily with the middle and upper weight classes for North Central.
Boyd graduated from McKendree with a degree in business administration. She will be pursuing a master's in sports leadership at North Central.
