Brandon Precin joined the Cardinal Men’s and Women’s Wrestling staffs prior to the 2021-2022 season. He joins the program after an impressive Division I and Senior level wrestling and coaching career. Precin was a three-time All-American at Northwestern University, graduating 3rd on the program’s all-time wins list with 138 career victories. He finished 7th at the NCAA Division I Championships in 2008, before improving to 3rd place finishes in both 2009 and 2011. He twice made the Big Ten finals for the Wildcats. He was also a two-time champion of the prestigious Midlands Championships. Precin was inducted into the Northwestern Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018.

After completing his collegiate career, Precin joined the coaching staff at Stanford University where he coached for two seasons while competing internationally on the Senior level in freestyle. He then moved to the Cliff Keen RTC at the University of Michigan where he trained and competed for the USA until his retirement in 2016. 

On the USA Wrestling circuit, Precin was the University Freestyle National Champion in 2011 at 55kg. He finished 3rd at the 2010 Senior World Team Trials, earning a place on the USA Wrestling Senior National Team. He also qualified for the 2012 USA Wrestling Olympic Trials.
