A former standout wrestler for the Cardinals, Josh Tardy joined the wrestling staff in 2016 as an assistant coach.
A two-time NCAA Qualifier, Tardy competed at 157 pounds for the Cardinals, establishing a career record of 69-17 in two seasons and earning a runner-up finish at the 2014 CCIW Championships. During his career, he earned individual championships at the Luther College Open and the Concordia Open and was twice named the CCIW Wrestler of the Week. He achieved an individual national ranking as high at #5 at 157 pounds.
Prior to attending North Central, Josh was a two-time NJCAA Championships qualifier and the 2013 NJCAA National Champion at 149 pounds at Harper College, helping his team to two top 10 national finishes.
Tardy wrestled at Naperville Central High School where he was a two-time IHSA state qualifier, an All-State finisher and a three-time AAU All-American.
He graduated from North Central College in 2016 with a degree in Sociology and a minor in coaching.
