Alara Boyd

Alara Boyd M'26 joined the North Central College women's wrestling coaching staff in the summer of 2024 as a graduate assistant coach. Boyd will work primarily with the middle and upper weight classes for North Central.

Boyd wrestled her senior season with the Cardinals, earning All-American honors by taking third place at the National Championships in the 143-pound division.

Boyd came to North Central following a successful career at McKendree University. She was a member of three NCWWC National Championships teams at McKendree in 2020, 2021, and 2022 while also being the 155-pound national champion in 2021. Boyd is a three-time All-American for the Bearcats. Outside of collegiate wrestling, she made four USA Wrestling World teams, winning two medals (a silver and a bronze at the World Championships). Boyd placed fourth at the 2020 US Olympic Team Trials. She was also a Fargo National Champion in high school. Boyd will work primarily with the middle and upper weight classes for North Central.

Most recently on the mats, Boyd earned a spot on Team USA’s Senior National team in 2025, ranking 3rd in the United States at 62kg.

Boyd graduated from McKendree with a degree in business administration. She received a Master's Degree in Sports Leadership from North Central in 2026. Â
