Dan Schiferl joined the Cardinal wrestling staff as a volunteer assistant coach in the fall of 2017 after serving two years as an assistant coach at UW-Oshkosh. During his time on staff with the Titans, Dan helped the team secure several top placements in the NCAA Division III West Regional.
Schiferl was a 3x NCAA Qualifier on the mat at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, advancing to the NCAA tournament’s Round of 12 in both 2012 and 2013 before breaking through to earn All-American honors as a senior with a fourth-place finish at 174 pounds. That season, Schiferl helped his team to a 10th-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
In addition to winning the NCAA West Regional title at 174 pounds in both 2013 and 2014, he was also crowned champion of the Pointer Open, the Dan Gable Open, The Pete Willson Invitational, the Lakeland College Invite and the Milwaukee School of Engineering Invite.  In addition, he was honored as a First-Team All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) selection in 2014, finishing his career with 98 career victories for the Titans.
As a prep athlete at Stoughton High School (Wisconsin), Schiferl was a 4x WIAA Division 1 State Qualifier, achieving a fifth-place finish at the 2009 State Championships and earning High School All-American honors from USA Wrestling.
Schiferl graduated from UW-Oshkosh in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in history.
