James Kluckhohn joined the North Central College staff in November 2014 and serves as the Cardinals’ assistant athletic director for facilities, events and recreation.

Kluckhohn comes to North Central after having served as the head men’s and women’s track and field coach at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois, since 2008. During that time, he helped to co-found the Chicagoland Throws Series, which provides competitive throwing events for youth through master level athletes.

He coached the men’s and women’s track and field and cross country teams at Aurora University from 2003 to 2008, which followed a three-year coaching stint at North Park University.

 Kluckhohn was the director of the Grossman Fitness Center and Mabee Pool at Texas Lutheran University from 1998 to 2000. He assisted with the design of the facility and developed its operations manuals while also teaching in Texas Lutheran’s kinesiology department.

Kluckhohn graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a bachelor’s degree in physical education in 1995 and a master’s degree in human performance in 1997. He resides in Warrenville with his wife Kari, North Central’s head women’s track and field and assistant women’s cross country coach, and their three sons, Jacob, Nathaniel and Benjamin.
