A native of Youngstown, Ohio, Jared graduated from Wabash College (IN) in 2006 with a degree in history and an area of concentration in secondary education. He earned his MLD in leadership studies from North Central College in 2010.
While at Wabash College, Bogan graduated summa cum laude and was a member of the Little Giants’ baseball team. In 2006 as a senior, he shared the Pete Vaughan Outstanding Athlete Award and the Indianapolis Association of Wabash Men Student-Athlete Award. He was named the Wabash representative for North Coast Athletic Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Bogan also received the Caleb Mills Excellence in Teaching Award and the John F. Charles World History Prize. He earned distinction in his comprehensive examinations and served as vice president of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.
At the time of his graduation, Bogan was third in Wabash history in home runs (12) and RBIs (78) and second in career doubles (36). He was named to the 2006 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Baseball First Team, College Division.
Professionally, Bogan began his career in education as a history teacher at North Montgomery High School in Crawfordsville, IN. His desire to coach collegiate baseball landed him at North Central College thanks to his connection with North Central alumnus, Cory Stevens ’00. Over his 15+ years at North Central, Bogan has served the Cardinal community in various capacities: graduate assistant baseball coach, area hall director, assistant director of residence life, director of campus safety, director of alumni engagement, major gift officer, and now as senior associate director of development for athletic giving.
In 2014, while director of campus safety, Bogan was awarded the College’s Dissenger Award for Outstanding Administrative Manager. Bogan has served on the College’s annual Day of Giving committee since its inception in 2016, helping that campaign raise over $2.1M.
Jared enjoys attending athletic events and country music concerts, running half marathons and traveling.
