Sam Poglitsch joined the North Central College women’s cross country coaching staff as a volunteer coach in fall of 2025.
Poglitsch was a four-year member of the University of Illinois women’s cross country and track and field teams. She was a four-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree between cross country and track and field. Poglitsch ran distance events from the 800m to the 5,000m while specializing with the 3,000m steeplechase. She ranks in Illinois’s program top-10 in the distance-medley relay, the indoor 1,500m, the and the steeplechase. Poglitsch turned in multiple Big Ten podium appearances for the distance-medley relay and the steeplechase. She received the 2025 Track and Field Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
A native of Wheaton, Ill. Poglitsch earned her bachelor’s degree in advertising with a minor in public relations in 2025.
