Trace Healy joined the North Central College football coaching staff in the summer of 2026 as a linebackers coach.
Healy arrives at North Central after serving as the Special Teams Quality Control Coach and Football Operations Assistant at Yale University. The Bulldogs won the Ivy League in 2025, and kicker Noah Piper earned FCS Football Central Freshman All-America honors. Yale ranked first in average opposing starting field position, second in kick return defense, seventh in kickoff return average and ninth in special teams grade, per PFF, during Healy’s tenure.
Before Yale, Healy coached at his alma mater, Wesleyan University, following a career-ending injury. As a student, he rose to outside linebackers and defensive ends coach as the Cardinals won the NESCAC in 2024, the program’s first outright conference title. Wesleyan ranked first in the NESCAC in scoring defense, red zone defense, pass defense, third-down defense and first-down defense that season.
A native of Wantage, New Jersey, Healy graduated from Wesleyan in 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in economics.
