CHICAGO, Ill. Oct. 21, 2008—Just four days after pouring eight goals on Rockford, the North Central College women's soccer team was locked in a defensive struggle, salvaging a 0-0 tie with North Park University, Tuesday evening in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin match at Ted Hedstrand Field.

The draw was the team's fourth of the season, a school record and their second scoreless tie of 2008. North Central played the University of Dubuque to a 0-0 draw on September 17 at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium in Naperville.

Elise Manzie (Jr., Naperville, Ill./Central) recorded her second consecutive shutout in goal and sixth on the season, breaking the single season shutout record set in 1998 by Tammie Krysh. Manzie has now logged 228 minutes without yielding a goal. The junior keeper had four saves in the game while her counterpart Ashley Jacobson notched five as both keepers played the entire game.

The Cardinals (6-6-4, 0-4-1) travel to Wheaton College on Wednesday, October 29 for their final road game of the season, taking on the two-time defending National Champion Thunder at 7 p.m. inside Joe Bean Stadium.
