Sep. 17, 2008 – North Central College and the University of Dubuque went 110 minutes without a goal, ending the game in a, 0-0, tie in a non-conference women's soccer game at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium. It is the fourth time this season the Cardinals have held the opposition scoreless and was the third shutout on the year for goalkeeper Elise Manzie (Jr., Naperville, Ill./Central).
It was an evenly played game with both teams managing five shots apiece at halftime. The Cardinals ended the game with a 14-10 advantage in shots, each team managing just three shots on goal. Manzie recorded three saves in goal in 110 minutes of play, while her counterpart Natalie Baker also stopped three shots.
It was the third tie of the year for the Cardinals, who are now 3-2-3, while the Spartans are now 3-1-1. It was the second straight tie for North Central, the team played to a, 1-1 tie on Sunday against Saint Mary's (Ind.). The Cardinals return to the pitch on Saturday for a non-conference matchup against Albion College (Mich.). Game time is slated for 1 p.m. at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
