CLAYTON, Mo. (Sept. 6, 2008) – Webster University (Mo.) defeated North Central College, 2-0, Saturday night at Gay Field. It was the opening game for both teams at the Cheryl Cook Invitational hosted by Fontbonne University. With the win, Webster improves to 3-0 on the season while the Cardinals fall to 2-1. The Gorlocks, ranked eighth in the Central Region, have yet to yield a goal all season, outscoring opponents 7-0 in their three games. North Central returns to the pitch on Sunday for a game against host Fontbonne. Game time is slated for 11 a.m. The Cardinals return home on Friday, September 12, when they host Mount Mercy College (Iowa) in the opener of the Sal Vacarro Tournament.
