Jan. 19, 2010 - North Central College's #J.T. Rowe# has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Wrestler of the Week for Jan. 11-17.

Rowe received the honor for his performance at the Manchester College Spartan Mat Classic on Saturday. Wrestling at 133 pounds, Rowe entered the tournament unseeded, but won three straight matches en route to the championship.

He pinned Campbellsville University's DeCorues Leavell in 4:11 in his first match, then needed just 60 seconds to pin top-seeded Tony Lawler of Heidelberg University in the semifinals. Rowe clinched the championship with an 8-7 win over Daphilo Success of Campbellsville in the finals. Rowe was named the Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament for his efforts.

Rowe is the second Cardinal to receive the CCIW's weekly award this season. Nathan Fitzenreider was named Wrestler of the Week for Dec. 7-13.

North Central, currently ranked 12th nationally, travels to face eighth-ranked Elmhurst College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
