ELMHURST, Ill. (Oct. 13, 2010)-- Two goals in 11 seconds derailed any hopes of a North Central College upset of regionally-ranked Elmhurst College, falling 3-1 on Wednesday evening in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin women's soccer match at Berens Park.

The Bluejays (8-2-1, 2-1 CCIW) opened the scoring in the 11th minute with Valerie Wesley finding Kelsey Caldwell to put the hosts up 1-0. Elmhurst, ranked eighth in the Central Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, would take the one goal edge into the halftime intermission, outshooting the Cardinals (5-7, 0-3 CCIW) by a 13-3 margin.

Elmhurst increased its buffer to two goals in the 56th minute with Sarah Harvey scoring unassisted on a corner kick before Wesley converted a penalty kick 11 seconds later to give the Bluejays the 3-0 advantage.

Nora Wessels put the Cardinals on the board in the 80th minute scoring a header goal off a Rachael Houp assist to spoil Elmhurst's shutout bid. The goal was Wessels third of the season and Houp's second helper of the year. North Central held a 7-6 edge in shots in the second 45 minutes of play.

Amy Frazzini tallied a career-high eight saves in the losing effort while Elmhurst's Allison Korbel recorded five saves.

The Cardinals return to the pitch on Saturday, Oct. 16, facing nationally-ranked Wheaton College at 5 p.m. inside Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
