Oct. 24, 2010-- Two goals from distance accounted for all the scoring on Sunday as North Central College played to a 1-1 double overtime tie with Carthage College in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin women's soccer match at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
The Cardinals' (6-8-1, 0-4-1 CCIW)
Emma Bader opened the scoring in the 11th minute, beating the goalkeeper on a laser from 40-yards out. North Central's one goal advantage held up at the half despite getting outshot 7-4 by the Lady Reds (7-7-3, 0-4-1 CCIW).
Carthage was firing on all cylinders in the second half, ripping off 13 shots in the final 45 minutes of play including Alyssa Baker's game tying shot in the 63rd minute from 40-yards away.
Neither team was able to sneak one past the keeper in the final 57 minutes of play, combining for 15 shots over that span.
Goalkeeper
Amy Frazzini finished with seven saves on the afternoon, logging all 110 minutes between the posts. Her counterpart Kelsey Harrington made four saves on the day.
The Cardinals return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 27, hitting the road to face Augustana College at 7:30 p.m. in Rock Island, Ill.
