Women's Soccer Ties Nationally Ranked Augustana, 1-1

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (Oct. 27, 2010)-- The North Central College women's soccer team kept 15th-ranked Augustana College off the scoreboard for the first 68 minutes of play and utilized an Elizabeth Koet goal late in regulation to salvage a 1-1 draw on Wednesday night in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin match at Ericson Field.

The Cardinals (6-8-2, 0-4-2 CCIW) and nationally ranked Vikings (12-1-4, 3-1-2 CCIW) were locked in a scoreless affair until the 69th minute of play when Augustana's Taylor Moesle scored unassisted. The Vikings maintained the lead until the 85th minute when Elizabeth Koet netted her first goal of the season to equalize the score and force overtime.

The two team's combined to rifle off just three shots in the two 10-minute overtime sessions, finally settling on a draw after 110 minutes of play as the Cardinals push their unbeaten streak to three games.

Augustana outshot North Central by a 33-8 margin with 21 of the Vikings ' shots coming in the second half of play.

Goalkeeper Amy Frazzini logged a career-high 10 saves on the night, playing all 110 minutes while her counterpart Kayla Radloff recorded one save.

The Cardinals close out their season on Saturday, Oct. 31, hosting North Park University at 12 p.m. inside Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
