Nov. 23, 2010 - North Central College's Billy Malone has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Co-Wrestler of the Week for the week of Nov. 15-21.

Malone earned the honor, which he shares with Frank Savegnago of Elmhurst College, on the strength of his performance at the Concordia University (Wis.) Open on Saturday.

Malone, who was seeded third, started the day with a 14-1 major decision against the University of Chicago's Jeffrey Tyburski. He then pinned the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point's Dylan Clucas in 2:01, followed by a 10-5 win over Northland College's Chris O'Reilly. In the semifinals, Malone defeated second-seeded Malcom Briggs of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, 3-2. He finished the day with an 11-7 win over Muskegon Community College's Trenton Fiegel.

Malone posted a 16-12 overall record and placed fourth in the Great Lakes Regional at 285 pounds in the 2008-2009 campaign before sitting out last season.

The Cardinals travel to Manchester College on Dec. 4 for the Indiana Little State Championships.
