Dec. 14, 2010 - North Central College's Andrew Zobac has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Wrestler of the Week for the week of Dec. 6-12.

Zobac received the award for the second consecutive week after winning the 141-pound championship at the 47th annual North Central College Invitational on Saturday at Gregory Arena.

Seeded third, Zobac took down second=seeded Kenneth Richmond of Olivet College by major decision, 14-1, in the semifinals before pinning Olivet's Vince Tucker, the No. 1 seed and a qualifier for last season's national championships, in the final. He finished the afternoon 4-0 and improved his record to 18-1 on the season.

Zobac finished with an overall record of 23-12 last season, winning the CCIW Championship at 141. He is 14-1 thus far this season and also won an individual title at the Knox College Invitational on Nov. 13. Zobac and teammates Nathan Fitzenreider and Billy Malone have helped North Central collect CCIW Wrestler of the Week honors each of the four times they have been awarded thus far this season.

The Cardinals host Cornell College, Heidelberg University and Wheaton College in dual competition on Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m.
