Mar. 30, 2010 -
North Central College catcher Michael Corrigan has been honored as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Baseball Player of the Week for Mar. 22-28. The CCIW announced its selections Tuesday.

North Central was a perfect 7-0 in last week's games, six of which featured Corrigan behind the plate. He batted .545 with four doubles, two home runs, 11 runs batted in and eight runs scored, recording at least one hit in every game and finishing with multiple RBI in three contests.

He went 3-for-3 with a double, a home run, three runs and two RBI in the Cardinals' final Spring Break game, a 13-6 win over Hamilton (N.Y.) on March 24. Corrigan then went a perfect 4-for-4 in the first game against Wisconsin-Superior on March 28, an 11-5 Cardinal victory. In that game, he finished with two doubles, a home run, three runs and a career-high six RBI.

Corrigan is the first North Central player to receive one of the CCIW's weekly awards this season. Pitcher Mike Kloss has received Pitcher of the Week honors during each of the previous two seasons.
