Apr. 13, 2010 - For the second time in three weeks, North Central College catcher
Michael Corrigan has been honored as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Baseball Player of the Week, receiving the honor for the week of Apr. 5-11.
Corrigan batted .550 (11-for-20) with three doubles, one home run, eight runs scored, and 17 runs batted during a week in which the Cardinals were a perfect 5-0. He went 3-for-4 with three RBI in the second game of a doubleheader against Millikin University on Apr. 6, a
9-6 Cardinal victory.
He then put up 10 RBI in one day during a twin bill with Elmhurst College on Apr.10. He went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, three runs scored and five RBI in a
16-3 win the first game, and 4-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and five more RBI in a
22-12 victory in the second game. Corrigan is batting .436 with eight doubles, four home runs and a CCIW-best 35 RBI this season.
North Central, currently 18-3 overall and leading the CCIW with a 7-1 record in conference play, hosts Millikin Univer on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
