OBERLIN, Ohio (Apr. 24, 2010) - The North Central College women's lacrosse team was beaten in its inaugural trip to Ohio on Saturday, coming out on the short end of a 16-12 decision against Allegheny College (Pa.) on the campus of Oberlin College.

The Cardinals trailed, 2-0, after the first four minutes of play before getting their initial goal from Jacqui Morgan with 25:38 left on the first-half clock. North Central was still in striking distance late in the first half, trailing 6-4, when the Gators went on a 6-0 run that lasted into the early going of the second half and took a commanding 12-4 advantage. 

The Cardinals (3-9) scored four times in a six-minute stretch to eat into the deficit, but Allegheny followed with a trio of goals to maintain some breathing room. The Cardinals scored three goals in the final six minutes to threaten the Gators, but were held scoreless for the final 3:51.

Morgan was North Central's top scorer with four goals, while Amy Frazzini scored three times and Danielle Fiala finished with two goals. Elise Manzie saved six shots on goal.

The Cardinals take on Oberlin Sunday at 11 a.m. Eastern time.
